Itel S18 Vs Itel P38 Pro & Price (Comparison)
itel S18 and itel P38 Pro are some of the most advanced itel smartphones, and I saw lots of improvement compared to other itel smartphones. What I like most about these two phones (itel S18 & itel P38 Pro) are the design and features.
In Nigeria, most mobile users don’t see itel smartphones as being on the same level as the likes of Tecno and Infinix mobile. However, the release of these two excellent phones shows that itel can do better. When you think about affordability, always remember itel the only desire is to bring the best smartphones at a pocket-friendly price.
Price comparison
Let me start with price because that matters to some itel users. After the price, we can see what differentiates them and their similarities.
Note: That price is not fixed; it depends on where you are buying from; the price here is an insight into what the price looks like in case you are planning to buy anyone of them.
Based on what Jumia listed on their shopping mall, expect to get itel S18 between N50,000 – N55,000. On the other hand, itel P38 Pro goes between N60,000 – N65,000. However, you can still go for the regular itel P38, which is cheaper but doesn’t have what the Pro variant offers.
Display Size and Quality
itel S18 is a bit smaller with a screen size of 6.6-inch HD+ display. Itel P38 Pro comes with a 6.8-inch display, and when it comes to the design, they look attractive, with both phones having their cameras aligned on the top left of the phone along with the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
When you look at the front, itel opted for a water-drop dot notch design, giving room for the selfie camera and beautifying the phone.
The winner:
You have indeed seen the two smartphones, and you might have your preference, but I don’t see anything significant to decide the best in terms of the display size and quality. However, if you love smartphones with giant screens, you can go for itel P38 Pro, which is 0.2 inches bigger than the S18.
Operating system and Processor
Both phones are powered by the Android 11 operating system and an Octa-Core processor. However, the Android 11 OS is not the latest Android operating system but one of the most recent OS you will enjoy.
As for the Processor, all the mechanism has been put in place to ensure the best performance and stability. You should expect too much from this device because certain features and required components have been compromised to keep the price within reach.
The winner:
I don’t have any preference in this regard. However, the choice is yours to make. I don’t see much that differentiates them from each other. Though, the configuration might be different.
Memory Size
itel S18 and P38 Pro come with 2GB random access memory (RAM), one of the components that need to be cut down to maintain the low price. However, you have nothing to be worried about, thanks to the memory fusion option that allows you to increase the RAM Memory from 2GB to 4GB by cutting some of the storage memory to increase the RAM Memory. They both have this feature.
When it comes to storage memory, both offer 64GB internal storage memory which is just enough for an average user. Still, if you need more, you can use an external SD card for up to 512GB, which should be more than enough to house your videos/movies, Music and other files, no matter how large.
The winner:
No winner; they are both excellent in terms of RAM and Storage with the same specs. So once again, the choice is still yours to make. You should consider other features before choosing between the itel S18 and itel P38 Pro, not the memory size because they are the same.
Camera Features
itel P38 Pro is going head to head with itel S18 when it comes to the camera, but you should know that other things contribute to camera quality and not just the size of megapixels. However, itel P38 Pro looks better with 13 megapixels Al camera and a 5-megapixel front selfie camera. itel S18 on the other hand offers (8+8 camera) 8MP AI rear camera and 8MP front selfie camera.
The winner:
I can’t say because many things contribute to camera clarity and overall quality. I think itel P38 Pro is better with the 13-megapixel AI rear camera, while S18 is better with the 8-megapixel selfie camera compared to the 5-megapixel that P38 Pro offers.
Battery Capacity
Both itel S18 and itel P38 Pro have a solid and lasting battery that can keep you connected for hours when heavily used and last for days on standby. itel S18 offers a 5000 mAh battery while itel P38 Pro is powered with a 6000 mAh battery and an 18W fast charging feature that enables the phone to charge faster than S18.
The winner:
itel P38 Pro is the better option for battery because it’s 1000 mAh bigger than itel S18. The 18W fast charging feature is another advantage over the S18, so the P38 Pro is the winner. Generally, they both have a fingerprint sensor and Face ID unlock. Its supports fourth-generation networks (4G LTE).
