(Galaxy Z Flip Review) Samsung unveils new folding smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Unveiled

Samsung recently unveiled a new Galaxy Z Flip, a foldable smartphone with amazing features going for less than $1,580. Today we are going to see how the new Galaxy Z Flip looks, Specifications and what’s new.

Just a year after Samsung released its Galaxy Fold, the new Galaxy Z Flip was revealed by the Korean smartphone manufacturer at their annual Galaxy event.

Unlike the $2,000 Fold, the Galaxy Z Flip closely resembles yesteryear’s flip phones, folding in half along a horizontal hinge rather than a vertical one. It is a thin, wallet-sized device when closed, but it is a full-fledged 6.7-inch smartphone when opened.

The outside of the phone is fitted with a 1.1-inch OLED display that displays alerts without opening the app, and also serves as a selfie camera viewfinder.

After months of delays, the Galaxy Fold hit stores in late 2019. It was supposed to hit the U.S. market in the spring, but its launch was postponed after review units hit gadget bloggers and broke promptly.

Reports of major malfunctions spread rapidly through Twitter including units breaking at their hinges. Other reviewers mistakenly peeled a protective layer of things— meaning to keep the screen of the phone together when folded or unfolded— off their device, destroying the screen.

No such protective layer is featured on the flip. Instead, it’s using proprietary bending glass that Samsung calls “Ultra-Thin Glass.” Also on Tuesday, Samsung unveiled three new variants of its Galaxy smartphone range that feature powerful cameras and fast wireless connectivity.

What’s New in Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

One of the main questions some Samsung users are asking now is what’s new, they wish to know what makes the new smartphone special or probably desire to know any attractive features to expect on Galaxy Z Flip.

Foldable Screen

Having a foldable screen is one of the things that makes this smartphone special, though the folding screen is a bit different from the first Galaxy Fold smartphone, folding in half along a horizontal hinge rather than a vertical Galaxy Fold.

Android 10.0; One UI 2

The phone is powered by the most recent Android operating system accompanied by Qualcomm SM8150 Snapdragon chipset and if you wanna see what Android 10 offers then better get started with one of the best smartphones with other outstanding features waiting for you.

Big Memory

Galaxy Z Flip is now one of the best smartphones with 8GB random access memory (RAM) which is even hard to see in most Laptop computers. When it comes to storage the phone is still not lacking. With 256GB internal storage memory, you will be able to house all your favorite games, apps and media files.

Dual Rear Cameras

We have dual 12-megapixel rear cameras aligned horizontally alongside an LED flash for night mode. Coming to the front, it has a single 10-megapixel camera, meanwhile, I wouldn’t say that Galaxy Z Flip comes with the best quality camera but you can trust Samsung when it comes to the quality camera.

Side-mounted Fingerprint sensor

Samsung didn’t opt for a rear-mounted or in-display fingerprinted sensor but decided to go with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as you can see in the picture above. There are only a few smartphones with side-mounted fingerprint sensor and Galaxy Z Flip has become one of them.

Observation

Galaxy Z Flip still comes with similar specifications and hardware seen in most mid-range priced smartphones but it still goes for a premium price above $1300. Obviously, missing the trending 5G network connectivity is also a setback but the real deal is the foldable screen and big memory.
